The magnificent city of Leh holds a significant place in the history of Ladakh, as it’s not only the biggest city of ladakh but has been an important citadel for many dynasties. Visit this flourishing city of Leh and Ulektokpo. The spirituality of monasteries you visit during your seven days Leh tour will develop a calm aura around you.

DAY 01 : DELHI / LEH

Start an all-new exciting journey with your arrival from Delhi to Leh and expect a whole lot of adventure to come your way as you enter the paradise situated 10 km from the fertile valley of Indus river. In stark contrast of the giant ‘White Mountain’ and cold desert stretch the flourishing city of Leh. A one-stop destination to experience Tibet right here in India.

Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 02 : LEH

An important trading center, Leh is an explicit market for exquisite thing across boundaries of Ladakh. Carpets, rugs, and pashmina shawls from Kashmir, Persian motif, jewellery from Tibet made of semi precious stone. Thangka paintings, prayer wheels, music bowls are other curios you can take back as a souvenirs Glimpses of ruins of ancient castles are worth capturing in your cameras. A simple yet pleasing and comfortable stay at a local hotel will keep you geared-up for your trek to Ladakh Palace and climb many stairs to Shanti Stupa. We shall visit to traditional Ladakhi home and to add thought for food relish the barley beer- chang, and stable food tsampa with the famous butter tea. A stopover at two Gompas (monasteries) Spituk Thiksey and Phyang will allow you to experience the calmness and spirituality among the monks and discover your inner self.

DAY 03 : LEH – ULEYTOKPO

The third day we shall visit Hemis the largest monastery in Ladakh, the Gompa of Hemis is located 45 km from Leh. The Red Hat sect of Buddhism built it. The walls are adorned with beautiful frescoes and the largest Thangka painting in the world depicting Guru Padmasambhava is preserved here. It also the abode of the Sakyamuni Buddha statue made of precious stones. Lamas rejoicing the birth of Guru Padmasambhava perform chaams or masked dances at the famous Hemis Festival. The festival also includes a vibrant bazaar where craftsmen sell handcrafted items.

DAY 04 : ULEYTOKPO – LEH

Next morning we shall depart for Uleytokpo en-route Likir Monastery. The fifth king of Ladakh, Lama Duwang Chosje in 11th century built the Likri Gompa. This monastery belongs to the yellow Hat sect whose founder was Tsong-kha-pa. The monastery is named Likri which means “The Nagas – Encircled” and because it was surrounded by the two great serpent spirits, the Nagas Rajas- Nanda and Taksakro. A resident site for 120 monks, this Gompa is also a school for approx 30 students. The monastery has a rich collection of paintings, robes, and artifacts.

Later visit Alchi Gompa . The wonderful village of Alchi is famous for the existence of one of the oldest monasteries of Ladakh with antique wall paintings dated back to 1st century. Later check-in at the Uleytokpo Ethnic Resort & enjoy hot lunch there. Alchi Choskor "Religious Enclave" is 69 km. west of Leh, the most famous and largest of all the Gompa built by Lotsava Rinchen Zangpo. A splendid piece of architecture the Sculptors and Wood carvers were brought from Kashmir around in 11th Century. A drive of three Km will lead to Rizong Gompa. It involves 2 Km of walk to reach main Gompa called “Chomos". It's a small Gompa situated deep inside a narrow valley. Rizong "Vuma Changchubling" around 73 km west of Leh, and north of the Indus River from Uleytokpo village. It is beautifully set in a valley, deep inside a gorge and the most isolated monastery in Ladakh. Return to Uleytokpo Camp for all meals & Overnight stay.

DAY 05 : LEH

Proceed to visit Traktok. Above the village of Sakti, is Traktok Gompa,. It is constructed round one of the innumerable caves in the Himalayan and trans-Himalayan where Padmasambhava is believed to have stopped and mediated during his journey to Tibet, and this forms the innermost shrine, while a little further down another cave serves as the kitchen. The small Du-khang has the usual paintings on the verandah, and on the inside walls recent murals, mostly of fierce divinities. His Holiness the Dalai Lama consecrated a new temple in 1980. Chemre was founded under the direct patronage of members of the ruling Namgyal dynasty. During the 16th century & was established at the instance of King Singge Namgyal, while his widow founded Chemre as a posthumous act of merit for him. The Monastery belongs to the Red Hat (Kargyud-Pa) sect of Tibetan monasticism. Return to Leh for Overnight at hotel.

DAY 06 : LEH.
Morning walk upto Samker Gompa. Samker Gompa is little up in the valley, 3 Km from Leh Town, which is open to visitors in the morning and evening only. The Gompa belongs to Yellow Sect & was founded in 18th Century. The Gompa is the seat of the Head Lama of Ladakh & founder of yellow sect, Tson-Kha-Pa. The temple walls have recent painted of figures including Sakyamuni, Avalokiteshwara, Padmasambhava, Tson-Ka-pa, and green Tara. Visit Shanti Stupa built by the Japanese Artists, few years ago on a hilltop. Visit Leah bazaar for last minute shopping.

DAY 07 : LEH – DELHI.
Our tour finishes with breakfast and transfer to the airport for your departure.
