DAY 01 DELHI – AMRITSAR
Depart for Amritsar from Delhi via train and lodge for a night stay. Following day visit the Wagah Border for “Change of Guards” ceremony held by Pakistani Rangers & Indian BSF. On return, drive upto Shera Wali Gate & then take a ride on Rickshaws up to Jallianwala Bagh, the massacre ground where in 1919 Brigadier Reginald Dyer opened fire on an unarmed gathering of men, women and children leading to a casualty of more than 1500 people. Later visit Golden Temple, also known as the Harmandir Sahib, the Holy Site of Sikhs, where the holy literature Guru Granth Sahib ji is preserved since ages. |

DAY 02 AMRITSAR - DHARAMSALA
As we continue our journey from Amritsar to our next destination Dharamsala, we shall pass through the villages of Pathankot & Nurpur and reach the uphills of Himachal Pradesh. At our arrival at McLeod Ganj (Upper Dharamsala) also known as “little Lhasa” because of its large population of Tibet refugees we shall check in a hotel for overnight stay. Have an evening Sightseeing of Bagshu Nag Temple where the famous myth of tussle between the king Bhagsu and the lord of snake- Nag for the precious water of Dal still dominate the area.
DAY 03 DHARAMSAL - MANALI
The third day we shall leave early morning for Manali and Proceed to Chamunda Ji Temple, which is of immense significance in Hinduism. As we drive via Palampur to see Tea Estates & the famous paragliding. We stop at Baijnath to see Shiva Temple at Baijnath a sheer example of the early medieval north Indian temple architecture. Later we pass through the town of Mandi, the temple city & famous for Pandoh Dam, 16 Km ahead. Further drive along the River Beas passing thru Kullu Town, the Valley Of Gods. Head further 40 Kms to arrive at Manali. |
DAY 04 MANALI
In morning we shall pay visit to the famous temple of Hadimba Devi in Manali, dedicated to the wife of Bhim, one of the five Pandava brothers from the epics of Mahabharata. It does not contain any idol but there are engraved footprints, which are worshiped by the devotees. Old Manali town, Nagar Castle & Vashist hot springs are other places to visit on the chart |
DAY 05 MANALI – KEYLONG \ JESPA
From Manali we shall drive to Jespa, stop at Rohtang Pass (3980 Mts. ASL) via Koksar (stop for Passport check) Sisu falls & Keylong, the district Headquarters of Keylong Valley. As we pass by the famous Chenab River, visit some villages at Jespa and the Buddhist monastery. |
DAY 06 KEYLONG \ JESPA - SARCHU
Drive early morning alongside the Bhaga River up towards its source via Baralachla-la (4892 Mts. ASL). On arrival at Sarchu, check in at fixed camps for overnight stay & sumptuous meals. Sarchu is considered ideal as the start point for the difficult trek into the Zanskar region of Ladakh. |
DAY 07 SARCHU - LEH
Day seven we shall precede towards Leh a paradise situated 10 km from the fertile valley of Indus River. In stark contrast of the giant ‘White Mountain’ and cold desert lay the flourishing the city of Leh. A one-stop destination to experience Tibet right here in India. During our drive get a view of magnificent Zanskar Range. Drive over Naklila & Lachungla Pass (5060 Mts. ASL) Stop at Pang for Passport check. Proceed further through More Plains & then ascend over Tanglangla Pass (5330 Mts. ASL) and arrive at Leh. |
DAY 08-09 LEH
An important trading center, Leh is an explicit market for exquisite items across boundaries of Ladakh. Carpets, rugs and pashmina shawls from Kashmir, Persian motif, jewellery from
Tibet made of semi precious stone. Thangka paintings, prayer wheels, music bowls are other curios you can take back as a souvenirs.
Glimpses of ruins of ancient castles are worth capturing in your cameras. A simple yet pleasing and comfortable stay at a local hotel will keep you geared-up for your trek to Ladakh palace and climb many stairs to shanti stupa.
Further days to come we shall visit to traditional ladakhi home and to add thought for food relish the barley beer- chang, and stable food tsampa with the famous butter tea. A stopover at two gompas (monasteries) Spituk and Phyang will allow you to experience the calmness and spirituality among the monks and discover your inner self. |
DAY 10 LEH – ULEYTOKPO
Next morning we shall depart for Uleytokpo visit Alchi Gompa the journey will be encompassed through a jeep safari along the Indus River bypassing some beautiful villages like Nimu and Saspol. Crossing the grand mountain ranges like the Stok and Ladakh ranges reaching Alchi. The wonderful village of Alchi is famous for the existence of one of the oldest monasteries of Ladakh with antique wall paintings dated back to 1st century. Later check-in at the Uleytokpo Ethnic Resort & enjoy hot lunch there. Alchi Choskor "Religious Enclave" is 69 km. west of Leh, the most famous and largest of all the Gompa built by Lotsava Rinchen Zangpo. A splendid piece of architecture the Sculptors and Wood carvers were brought from Kashmir around in 11th Century. A drive of three Km will lead to Rizong Gompa. It involves 2 Km of walk to reach main Gompa called “Chomos". It's a small Gompa situated deep inside a narrow valley. Rizong "Vuma Changchubling" around 73 km west of Leh, and north of the Indus River from Uleytokpo village. It is beautifully set in a valley, deep inside a gorge and the most isolated monastery in Ladakh. Return to Uleytokpo Camp for all meals & Overnight stay.
